QUEEN OF PEACE (0-0) --
First year coach Jio Fontan, the former St. Anthony star, has assembled quite a group. He has brought in 16 new players, including 10 transfers with prior varsity basketball experience. The Golden Griffins will be led by 6-foot-4 junior Raven Farley (Patrick School last year), junior D’aviyon Magazine and freshman sensation Asonah Alexander. The Griffins will come at teams in waves as they will play up tempo for 32 minutes. They will take time to jell, but come late January they will be a huge factor in Bergen County. |

EASTSIDE (0-0) --
After losing Taylor Brown (Western Kentucky) to graduation, the Ghosts will reload with a huge frontline lead by 6-foot-5 Blessing Ejiofor (Vanderbilt), 6-foot-9 Andrea Aquino (from Portugal) and the talented Precious Featherstone. The question here will be at the guard position. Who will the Ghosts rely on? Solid guard play, if it emerges, could land them back in the top spot before we know it. |
