The Friars are on a mission to bring back another T of C banner and it begins on Friday night against Corona del Sol of Tempe, Arizona. The Friars start the season at No. 16 in MaxPreps rankings, one spot behind Roselle Catholic. They will have a great opportunity as they are loaded with talent, led by a group of D1 signees, Jagen Mosely (Georgetown), Asante Gist (Eastern Kentucky), Kaleb Bishop (FDU), Shyquan Gibbs (NJIT), and Jalee Lord (Merrimack). |

HUDSON CATHOLIC (0-0) --
The Hawks will attempt to capture another Hudson County title and make noise in the states. They finished 24-4 last season and will have one of the best backcourts in NJ featuring sophomores Jahvon Quinerly and Luther Muhammad along with juniors Patrick Strzala and defensive wizard Thyeem Burno. |

BERGEN CATHOLIC (0-0) --
The Crusaders will undoubtedly enter the season with the best talent in Bergen County due to four transfers from overseas led by 6-foot-2 Gabriel Stefanini from Italy. He will be well complemented by the other three, who all have size. From last year’s squad look for Taj Benning to contribute. They will open the season with Eastside and we should get a good gage from that. |

The Ghosts will have a hard time matching last year’s success when they captured the Group 4 State championship before falling to Newark Tech in T of C. They will reload this year behind junior Nhazir Smith and seniors Marlon Ebanks, Terra Gatling, Terrel Griffin and Charles Powell. |

ST. JOSEPH REGIONAL (0-0) --
The 20-6 Green Knights from a year ago will look to avenge its one loss to Bergen Catholic in the County Final out of the four that the two rivals played. The headliners will be senior Nate Garvey and junior Chauncey Hawkins. A Big test will be at Gil St. Bernard on Dec 27, but first they will see DePaul on Friday and Hackensack on Sunday. |

The Ironmen, coming off a 21-5 campaign, will look to challenge again for the Bergen County title and will be led a pair of seniors in Brandon Anderson (Brown) and Omar Mostafa. The Ironmen will have plenty of talent to work with and will have the opportunity to unveil it on Friday against Kennedy. |

The Highwayman finished last season at 21-9 after losing to Bergenfield in the North 1, Group 3 state sectional final in a classic game. They will have to find a way to replace All-County guard Leondre Washington, who was lost via transfer to Roselle Catholic. They do bring back lightning quick Ja’Quaye James and will have plenty of others to rely on. They open with Tenafly before getting a crack at Gil St. Bernard. |

Finished 18-10 last year and will try and improve on that with a new head coach in Tommie Patterson. The Knights will rely heavily on standout senior Alphonso Gee, who is just 392 points away from 2,000 for his career. Transfers Jamir Lattimore (DePaul) and Jaylon Colon (Paterson Charter) should also help the cause. |

Joe Sandberg’s group is coming off a 22-5 season and will try to avenge a heartbreaking loss to Teaneck in the states last season. The Green Raiders will go 10 deep and will be led by 6-foot-4 senior and returning first team All-County player Matt Latka. Could take the Raiders a couple of weeks to get into gear as 3 starters are just returning from football. They play St. Joes Metuchen on Sunday |

The Comets are getting closer to the glory days when the program was consistently at the top in Bergen County. They finished last year with a 68-62 loss to highly regarded East Orange in the states and will return basically everyone from a season ago led by MJ Richardson (14 points a game), Ahmed Bailey and Edward Emedoh. The Comets will start the year banged up and may not get everyone back until January. |

The Hornets season ended at the hands of talented Colonia team, but will look to rebound as an early favorite in their league. Jihad Wright, who scored 508 points (98 3s) last season is just 50 shy of 1,000 will team up with Tito Ramirez to form a talented backcourt tandem. PV will get and early test against Wayne Hills on Friday. |

Their 24-5 season a year ago carried the Falcons to the state semifinals where they bowed to Newark Tech, 66-53. This year they will make the same run as they return many of their players led by senior Alex Morales, who scored 563 points last season. An interested matchup will come on January 9 against Ramapo in the Mel Henderson Showcase at Hackensack. |

It’s like clockwork with Joe Leight’s teams, great season after great season and this one should be no different. The Indians will be led by Nick Guiliano, Alex Kokos and the talented QB from the football team, Nick Goodwin, who added 362 points last season. The Indians look to get some revenge as they get West Milford to open the season, the team that knocked them out of the states last season, 51-49. |

Are the Marauders back? They finished last season with a 14-14 record, but won 7 of its last 9 to get to .500. The two losses in that year-end flurry were to highly ranked Hudson Catholic, 61-49, and to Seton Hall Prep in the state tournament., Returning is senior Shamar Waterman and juniors Jordyn Owens and Jorge Portorreal. Snyder awaits in the season opener on Friday. |
