GARFIELD -- On this episode of NorthJerseySports.com's Where in North Jersey is Rich Barton?: Preseason Edition, Rich visits the Garfield boys soccer team.
Last year the Boilermakers enjoyed their best season in school history. They went 19-3-3 and, after winning their section, won the school's first Group 2 title with a dramatic 2-1 victory over Holmdel. But Garfield lost 13 seniors to graduation, including David Herrea and Wojciech Piwowarczyk, and had legendary head coach Mark Pieklo retire. Another setback came in June when senior Jorge Salas, who was the team's leading scorer last year, was sidelined indefinitely with a broken leg.
Rich talks to first year head coach Chad Sajnoski, senior Antonio Razmoski and junior Patryk Gruca to find out what to expect from the upcoming season.
