WAYNE
-- The Northern Valley/Old Tappan volleyball team won the Group
3 state championship on Saturday, but the NorthJerseySports.com
cameras were not there to capture it. In the latest edition of
The Multimedia Spotlight, we take our medicine as we catch up
with NV/OT head coach Melissa Landeck about five hours after we
should have been shooting celebration shots.
Landeck
lets us have it, then lets us in on how it all went down in the
Group 3 state final where her team took a 25-15, 25-9 decision
over West Windsor South.
Aiyana
Whitney led the Golden Knights, who won their first outright state
championship in 13 years, whith 10 kills and also added 6 digs
and 2 aces. Taylor Jansen added 6 kills, 3 digs and 2 aces; Anna
Kate Miller had 12 assists and 6 digs and Kelsey Morgan also had
6 digs for Old Tappan, which joined Bergen County programs Bogota,
Ramapo and IHA in the Tournament of Champions, which gets underway
on Thursday.
