The Hawks made a statement as they knocked off the ninth-ranked team in the State, St. Mary’s (Elizabeth), 62-53, as Luther Muhammed scored 22 points including the 1000th of his career. Took down Kearny 88-63 as Muhammed again led with 31, including five 3-pointers. Union City on Tuesday. |

BERGEN CATHOLIC (12-2) --
The Crusaders played in the final game of the Mel Henderson Memorial Showcase and suffered only their second loss of the season as they lost to Notre Dame (CT), 70-69, as Notre Dame star Tremont Waters (Georgetown commit) had 33 points and hit a 3 in closing seconds. On Thursday they traveled to Old Tappan and found themselves trailing for much of the first half before tying it up at 31 at the break. Behind Taj Benning’s 18 points, the Crusaders outscored the Knights 28-14 in the third on their way to a 71-57 win. St. Anthony on January 30. DePaul on Tuesday. |

The Ironmen put up three impressive wins during the week as they hammered Paramus Catholic, 83-34, behind Chris Lovisolo’s 18 points and then beat Ridgewood handily on the road, 75-56, as Marcellus Earlington’s 21 paved the way. Finally, in the Mel Henderson Memorial Showcase on Saturday they crushed Randolph, 89-50, as Earlington finished with 26 points and 9 rebounds to earn MVP honors. Hackensack on Tuesday. |

JOSEPH REGIONAL (11-3) --The Green Knights avenged a 1-point loss to Eastside last year, controlling the game right from the beginning in posting a 63-50 win as Chauncey Hawkins led a balanced attack with 17 points. Knights also beat Paramus Catholic, 63-33, and were up 28-10 at the half. Teaneck visits Tuesday night. |

TEANECK (10-4) --Highwaymen picked up three wins as they beat DePaul, 78-52, on Tuesday night as Ja’Quaye James connected for 40 points, draining as school record 11 triples and Leondre Washington II had 31 points on his return to the court. On Thursday they defeated Ramapo 62-54 as Washington led with 22 points. Finally, they beat Ridgewood 69-50 as James pumped in 32 and Washington had 21 points. Travel to SJR on Tuesday. |

The Knights challenged themselves at home on Thursday night against Bergen Catholic and went toe-to- toe in the first half before falling 71-57. Eric Slater came up big for the Knights as he had 21 points. On Tuesday the Knights used a 34-15 second half to beat Northern Highlands 59-43 as Justin Minaya had 17 points. On Saturday afternoon they were upset by Pascack Hills, 51-43, as the Knights blew a 23-15 halftime lead. Bergenfield Tuesday and at Pascack Valley on Thursday. |

The Ghosts met St. Joseph Regional in the Mel Henderson Memorial Showcase and lost 63-50. Earlier in the week they picked up two wins starting with a 62-48 victory over Passaic Valley as Junior Santiago had 23 points and they then knocked off Bergen Tech, 59-36, as they led 31-10 at the half. Marquise Samuels led a balanced attack with 14 points. Passaic Tech on Tuesday. |

DWIGHT-ENGLEWOOD (13-1) --
Despite their gaudy 13-1 record the Bulldogs are still out to prove how good they are. Well, on Saturday in the opening game of the Mel Henderson Memorial Showcase, they handed St. Peters Prep a 61-50 loss in what many felt was an upset. Sophomores Jordan McKoy and Tyson Etienne each had 16 points. On Tuesday they beat Queen of Peace, 55-43, as Etienne had 25 points and, finally, on Thursday they beat Secaucus 57-30. Ridgefield and Leonia this week. |

NORTH BERGEN (13-1) --
The Bruins have now won 7 straight with their only loss on the season to Hudson Catholic, the No. 6 ranked team in the state. On Friday night they battled Ramapo at Passaic Valley HS in the Coaches vs Cancer and came away with a hard fought 49-45 win. On Tuesday they defeated Lincoln at home, 55-45, as Abdallah Saleh had 22 points and on Thursday they beat Union City, 58-35, as Ginao Randiamora scored 13. Ferris on Thursday night. |

KENNEDY (8-5) -- The Knights went 1-2 in their three games during the week starting with a loss to Pope John on MLK Day, 70-57, but bounced back by beating Wayne Hills in convincing fashion, 72-55, as Jaylen Colon had 18 points and Jalen Hargrove added 13. On Thursday they stumbled in losing to Passaic Tech, 74-66. Clifton and Passaic this week. |

The Comets won on Saturday afternoon in the even they host, the 2nd Annual Mel Henderson Memorial Showcase, as they beat up on East Orange Campus, 73-58. Atiba Taylor picked up MVP honors as he scored 27 points in the win. On Monday they beat Barringer, 70-60, as Bryce Drakeford poured in 24 points. Travel to Don Bosco on Tuesday. |

The Raiders had lost three straight games before righting the ship on Sunday with a 58-52 win over Wayne Valley as Jason Oppler scored 22 points. The three losses were all against top competition, starting with Pascack Valley. The Raiders fell behind by 17 before making it a two-point game in final minute before losing 55-48. On Thursday they lost at Teaneck, 62-54, and on Friday they fell to North Bergen, 49-45. Paramus Catholic on Tuesday, a must win to have a shot at a Jambo spot. |

The Indians, after losing to Bergen Catholic, had run off four straight wins before falling to Ramapo on Sunday in Little Falls. They buried Passaic Tech, 85-67, behind Mark Howell (26 points) and AJ Tedesco (25 points). They then beat Fair Lawn, avenging their loss on opening night by winning 65-58 at home as Howell scored 22 points. |
