NORTH JERSEY -- After a brilliant two-sport career at Northern Valley/Old Tappan High School, Lauren Dinsdale made her presence immediately felt when she went to Skidmore College to play volleyball this past fall.
The athletic Dinsdale, who was also a very good catcher for the Knights during her high school career, stepped right into the starting line-up as the libero and proceeded to break three school records by the end of the 2006 season.
Dinsdale, who is from Harrington Park, recorded 885 digs, 51 assists and 40 aces during the season. She was named named the Liberty League Rookie of the Week seven times during and named the Liberty League Rookie of the Year. Dinsdale also garnered New York Region Freshman of the Year honors and was then named to the AVCA All-Region NCAA Division III teams, which was announced Nov. 9.
Dinsdale worked with The Recruiting Network on NorthJerseySports.com to produce a highlight video from game tapes that her parents shot during her junior year. The project included a hightlight reel, game tape and a skills section all on one DVD with an easy-to-use menu.
