Holden (2005) -- IHA girls basketball --
Perhaps NJS.com's biggest success story of the year was Vanessa
Holden's. Holden, following a terrific senior season, was deemed ineligible
as the state playoffs began. Thanks to some game tape shot by her father and
The Recruiting Network's quick work, Holden was able to get a full ride to
Le Moyne College in Syracuse,
New York.
Sarah Volkomer (2005) -- Glen Rock High School girls soccer -- Sarah Volkomer was a four-year starter at Glen Rock High School and helped lead the Panthers to back-to-back co-state championships. She is redshirting her freshman year at Northeastern University.
Caitlin Colesanti (2005) -- AHA girls soccer -- Following her senior season, Caitlin Colesanti became the first soccer player in Academy of Holy Angels history to be selected First Team All-Bergen County.
Laura Schaefer (Class of 2005) -- Chatham High School soccer -- After leading her Chatham High School team to a state championship, Laura Schaefer was named to the 2004 NSCAA/adidas High School Girls All-America Team.
Stephanie Kormanik (2005) -- Clarkstown High School (NY) girls soccer -- Stephanie Kormanik had a stellar senior season helping her team to the post season. She will be attending Jacksonville University in the fall and playing soccer.
Jaime Heller (Class of 2005) -- Fair Lawn High School girls soccer -- As a two-sport athlete, Jaime Heller was a key component to both the girls soccer team and the softball team. She was the heart and soul of the soccer team and was named MVP for the Cutters softball team in addition to picking up 1st team all league and 3rd team All-Bergen County honors. Heller will be going to Stockton College where she will be playing both softball and soccer.
Megan Brown (2005) -- Ramsey High School girls soccer -- With a number of different opportuneness following her senior season at Ramsey, Megan Brown decided to stay close to home and will be playing soccer at Montclair State University.
Jeff Van Note (2005) -- Delbarton School football -- As an integral part of Delbarton's offensive attack, Jeff Van Note helped the Green Wave to a 10-1 season his senior year. His penchant for making spectacular catches and scoring touchdowns caught the eye of Fordham University (NY) where he will be playing this fall.
